Cher on Voter Laws: ‘I’ve Always Known We Were’ Racist Country

July 12, 2021

Unhinged Twitter maven and former entertainer Cher tweeted on Monday that the United States is “vile” and “racist,” and that voter integrity laws are “sins.”

Referring to recently-passed voter integrity laws that put in place security measures such as voter ID, Cher ranted, in her inimitable, illiterate style, “IVE ALWAYS KNOWN WE WERE A RACIST COUNTRY,BUT THINGS WE’VE DONE,(ARE DOING)ARE WORSE THAN I EVER IMAGINED.IF WE DONT MAKE MONUMENTAL CHANGES ‘NOW’WE’LL REMAIN A VILE,RACIST COUNTRY 4EVER. NEW VOTING LAWS PASSED BY REPUBLICANS AGAINST BLK,& POOR ARE SINS,NOT LAWS.”

Cher is one of many Hollywood stars who have publicly denounced voter integrity laws in states such as Georgia, falsely claiming they represent a new form of “voter suppression.” Cher has ranted that the GOP consists of “evil,” “soulless” “bigots” who “dream of white supremacy” and want to “bring Jim Crow back.”

Voter integrity laws suppress nothing but the fraudulent votes that the Democrats need to win elections — hence their virulent attacks on Republican lawmakers who have the affrontery to propose such laws which protect our democratic process.
