In a typically unhinged tweet on Sunday, former entertainer Cher accused Republicans of stripping the voting rights of black people through Georgia’s new voter integrity law, calling GOP politicians “evil, soulless, bigots.”
Her impassioned, irrational, and illiterate tweet, littered with juvenile emojis and crimes against punctuation, read: “WILL GOP POLS.EVER GIVE BLK [Americans] THEIR INALIENABLE RIGHTS, RACIAL& ECONOMIC EQUITY,& RESPECT THEY DESERVE?! GOD,HOW CAN WE LET GOP POLS. TAKE VOTING RIGHTS FROM [American] CITIZENS?! GOP POLS.R INFECTED WITH DEADLY PANDEMIC OF THEIR OWN MAKING.THEY R EVIL, SOULLESS,BIGOTS,& DONT CARE”
This was in response to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signing into law Senate Bill 202, intended to curb fraud by implementing voter identification requirements and limiting ballot drop boxes throughout the state. Democrats, who desperately need massive voter fraud to win elections, falsely claim that the measure is about suppressing minority votes.
Cher was one of Hollywood’s biggest supporters of Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election, performing at virtual fundraisers and even going on the campaign trail in Nevada for candidate Biden. “I’m actually registered as an independent. It means I don’t agree with everybody, but in the final analysis, you have to vote for the one side you hate the least,” she explained in an interview last year.
