On MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports Tuesday, former President Jimmy Carter said he was “very glad” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was going forward with an impeachment inquiry into President Trump.
“I think we still need to ascertain the facts from a very thorough investigation,” Carter said. “I’m very glad that the Speaker of the House has ordained that the investigation go forward.” He added that he thought the Senate was “very unlikely,” however,” to actually remove Trump from office.
“My advice to him would be to tell the truth, I think, for a change, and also to cut back on his Twitter feeds, and give the House of Representatives and also the Senate, and I would say the general public the evidence that they need to form a case either for or against him,” Carter continued.
Leftist MSNBC considers Carter to be one of America’s elder statesmen, which is why they courted his predictable opinion. Patriotic Americans consider Carter to be one of America’s very worst presidents.
