Friday on ABC’s long-running daytime propaganda-fest The View, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said “he’s right” when asked if he agrees with his husband Chasten’s quote that Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law “will kill kids.”
Co-host Ana Navarro began, “Your husband Chasten is a teacher, and he’s been a vocal critic of what’s going on in my state of Florida with the so-called ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law now, which he says will kill kids. Do you agree? And, you know, as a politician because this strikes you as, you know, your husband is a teacher. You are obviously LGBTQ yourself, and you are now a parent. So how do you feel?”
Fact check #1: the recently-passed “Parental Rights in Education” legislation, demonized by media propagandists like Navarro as the “Don’t Say Gay” law (it has nothing to do with banning the word “gay,” which doesn’t even appear in the wording), merely bans the teaching of sex education and gender ideology to third graders and younger children without parental consent. It is a commonsense, innocuous law that has driven the Left into a rage because it doesn’t allow them to sexually and ideologically groom kids as young as kindergartners.
Fact check #2: Chasten Buttigieg is not a teacher; he is a political activist who has been caught on video mocking the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. flag by having the kids in his classroom pledge to the LGBT “rainbow” flag.
The diversity hire Buttigieg replied to Navarro, “Yeah, he’s right, and I think every law ought to be judged for the effect it’s going to have on real people in real life. And I get the political reasons why they’re doing this. By the way, some of those political reasons, they don’t have a plan on anything else, right? They don’t have a plan on dealing with inflation or dealing with gas prices, or dealing with the issues of we can’t get home insurance in Florida. They’re banning all sorts of conversations. It’s easier. It’s easier politically, but this is going to hurt people.”
Fact check #3: the soaring inflation and gas prices he referred to are the result of his own administration’s policies.
As for the ludicrous, fear-mongering accusation that Florida’s parental rights law will “kill kids”: what is killing kids is inculcating a gender confusion in them and then facilitating their transition to another sex, setting them up for a lifetime of regret and possible suicide (the rate of suicide and attempted suicide for transgenders is shockingly high). But leftists like Buttigieg don’t care about that.
