According to Breitbart News, a Boston teacher’s union president recently encouraged public schoolteachers to wear “Black Lives Matter” t-shirts in class, prompting condemnation from the Boston Police Union.
“Policing has always been a dangerous profession, but groups like Black Lives Matter, by inaccurately demonizing police as racists who kill innocent people, have made policing more dangerous than ever before,” wrote Boston Police Patrolmen’s Union President Michael Leary in a letter.
“To be clear, Black Lives Matter is not against police,” claimed Ivan Espinoza-Madrigal, Exec. Dir. of Lawyers for Civil Rights. “It is against police racism and violence toward Black people. Calling Black Lives Matter an ‘anti-police organization’ is at best misinformed, if not deliberately misleading and incendiary.”
To call BLM “anti-police” is not misleading; it is an understatement. BLM demonstrators have been known to chant, “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now,” and “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.” Now that’s incendiary.
