The early fundraising efforts of New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker are well behind those posted by other major Democrat presidential hopefuls.
Booker said he has raised over $5 million in the two months since he entered the 2020 race for the White House, and he has over $6.1 million cash on hand. That puts him near the back of the pack with only 10 months left before the start of Democratic primary voting.
“Money is important, but it is definitely not going to be the barometer with which people make their decisions over who’s going to be the next president of the United States,” Booker said. “And I’m happy that we have the resources we need to be in this race.”
