In a recent video posted to social media, Black Lives Matter (BLM) co-founder and self-proclaimed trained Marxist Patrisse Cullors urged the public to come to the defense of hate crime hoaxer and disgraced actor Jussie Smollett by calling the jail and demanding his release.
“I’m in Chicago and was able to see Jussie today, and he’s strong, but what’s happening inside is just — it’s just unacceptable,” Cullors said. “Today is the first day that he’s going to be able to get an actual bed. He’s been sleeping on a restraint bed.”
That’s because Smollett has acted hysterically since his sentencing to 150 days in jail, 30 months of probation, restitution of $120,106, and a fine of $25,000. He raved about his innocence in court and shouted “I am not suicidal!” — as if he is in danger of being murdered like Jeffrey Epstein — and later required psychological observation.
“We need folks to call the jail and check up on him, but also say that you think he should be freed,” Cullors added. “And the last thing is, we need folks to challenge the misinformation and disinformation around this case. That’s so critical.”
The only misinformation around this case is Smollett’s own easily-punctured claim that he was attacked by two MAGA rednecks (on a below-freezing Chicago night) who recognized him as the black, gay actor on a show no MAGA redneck would ever have watched, and who just happened to have a rope to put around his neck and bleach to pour on him because hey, systemic racism.
No one believes Smollett, not even blacks. But some, like Cullors, find it convenient to publicly defend his obvious lie for political reasons.
