Various media outlets are speculating that progressive left-wing billionaire Tom Steyer is finally ready to enter the crowded 2020 Democratic presidential race.
Steyer reportedly held a private conference call last week with his San Francisco office and two progressive organizations that he funds, Need to Impeach and NextGen America, to inform potential supporters that he is planning to run, according to Politico.
“I think his heart’s in the right place. If he’s doing this, he’s got a reason behind it — He’s a very intelligent man,” a source told Politico.
Steyer initially planned to announce his campaign in January but instead held a town hall for Need to Impeach.
