Presidential contender Joe Biden told a group of reporters on Tuesday that racism is “institutional” in America, and “white folks are the reason.”
“White folks are the reason we have institutional racism,” claimed Biden, who has been criticized for praising segregationists and opposing school busing. “There has always been racism in America. White supremacists have always existed. They still exist.” Racism is a “white man’s problem visited on people of color” in the U.S., he added.
Nonetheless, Biden refused to commit to picking a running mate “of color” if he won the Democrat nomination. “I’m not making that commitment until I know that the person I’m dealing with I can completely, thoroughly trust, is authentic, and is on the same page.”
Racism is a universal sin, not a “white man’s problem,” and there is no institutional racism in America. There are, however, identity-politics race-mongers like Biden with a vested interest in fanning racial resentment and exploiting a sense of victimhood in minorities.
