Biden: Trump ‘Doesn’t Want to Face Me’ in an Election

March 5, 2020

In a preview clip of his interview with Today show host Savannah Guthrie which aired on MSNBC on Wednesday, presidential hopeful Joe Biden blustered that President Trump “risked his presidency” because he did not “want to face” Biden in the general election.

Asked by Guthrie, “Do you think the president is rooting for [Biden rival Bernie] Sanders?” Biden replied, “I don’t think the president wants to face me. I will beat him, period. Period. He’s done everything in his power— he’s even risked his presidency because he doesn’t want to face me.”

Biden was referring to the Democrats’ failed partisan impeachment effort against Trump, for purportedly withholding military aid to Ukraine in order to pressure its President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Biden and his son Hunter’s corrupt business dealings there. The impeachment was shot down in the Senate.

The notion that Trump is too scared to face off with Biden in the election is comical. Trump knows Biden stands no chance, and Biden’s fellow Dems know it too.
