Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden was reportedly part of a tight circle of Obama administration officials who held secretive meetings in the early stages of the intelligence community’s probe into Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election.
According to Breitbart, a Washington Post article from June, 2017 named the four senior officials involved in the initial investigation, and the clandestine ways in which other intelligence agencies were kept out of the loop. The group eventually included Biden.
Biden’s previously unreported role in the Obama-era meetings on Russian collusion could hamstring the former vice president’s 2020 campaign momentum.
