Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden on Tuesday announced a plan to “defeat the National Rifle Association” as part of his 2020 campaign promise pledge to fight for school safety.
“As President, he will secure passage of gun legislation to make our students safer,” Biden’s plan read. “We cannot let gun violence become an acceptable part of American life. Biden knows that arming teachers isn’t the answer; instead, we need rational gun laws.”
Part of Biden’s proposal criticized the NRA’s push to arm teachers, saying it “isn’t the answer.” Biden wrote, “Parents shouldn’t have to worry about whether their kids will come home from school, and students shouldn’t have to sacrifice themselves for their friends days before graduation.”
