Biden Breaks Promise to Put Beto in Charge of Gun Control

April 8, 2021

President Joe Biden broke his 2020 promise Thursday to put former Rep. Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke in charge of gun control under his administration. Instead, he named gun control activist David Chipman to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

“I want to make something clear,” Biden said of O’Rourke at a Dallas event on March 2, 2020 where the latter endorsed then-candidate Biden. “I’m going to guarantee you this is not the last you’re seeing this guy. You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort. I’m counting on you. I’m counting on you. We need you badly. The state needs you. The country needs you. You’re the best.”

Apparently David Chipman is even bester than O’Rourke, because Biden has now nominated the former to serve as ATF Director.

You may recall that O’Rourke, failed presidential candidate and Vanity Fair cover model, gave away the left’s gun-grabbing agenda by admitting to the media in September 2019, “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s.”
