After a “March for Truth” rally in El Paso, Texas, supporters of failed Senate candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke used bats to beat a piñata resembling President Trump.
The rally was held at about the same time as President Trump’s own rally on Monday night, just a short distance from the border with Mexico. Over music that could be heard from Trump’s much-larger gathering, a gesticulating O’Rourke declared that “Walls do not save lives. Walls end lives.”
Shortly after O’Rourke’s rally, some supporters hung a Trump piñata and took turns beating it with a bat.
