Ben & Jerry’s: Police Shooting ‘is Rooted in White Supremacy’

April 14, 2021

Earlier this week on Twitter, the woke leftists at Ben & Jerry’s ice cream company declared shamefully but predictably that the fatal police shooting of black suspect Daunte Wright is intrinsically “rooted in white supremacy.”

“The murder of #DaunteWright is rooted in white supremacy and results from the intentional criminalization of Black and Brown communities,” Ben & Jerry’s tweeted, adding that the system “can’t be reformed.”

“Rather, it must be dismantled and a real system of public safety rebuilt from the ground up,” Ben & Jerry’s added, along with the hashtag #DefundThePolice. “From the ground up” means communities policing themselves, which will result in skyrocketing crime overnight.

Bodycam footage of the shooting suggests that the Brooklyn Center, Minnesota police officer, a 26-year police veteran, accidentally drew her firearm instead of a Taser as Wright attempted to get back into his car after officers attempted to arrest him for an outstanding warrant.

But for leftists like Ben & Jerry’s, always on the lookout for incidents to weaponize against law enforcement, the shooting could only have stemmed from the mythic “systemic racism.”
