Thursday on CNN Newsroom, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra doubled down on his previous totalitarian comments that it is the government’s business to know whether or not people are vaccinated, stating, “It is absolutely the business of our government to try to help communities be safe.”
Asked by the CNN Senior National Correspondent if, in light of the subsequent backlash, he regretted saying that it is the government’s business to be able to know exactly whether or not one is vaccinated, or if he would like to revise what he said, Becerra responded, “Listen, we’ve spent trillions of dollars. We had to prevent people from coming into our country. We have had to ask everyone to mask up and to stay home. It is absolutely the business of our government to try to help communities be safe.”
First of all, Becerra and the Biden administration have done absolutely nothing to “prevent people from coming into our country” or even to prevent the COVID-infected from entering. An estimated 10% of the tsunami of illegal aliens swarming our southern border is stricken with COVID, and yet the Biden administration targets American citizens instead for economy-destroying lockdowns, and demonizes the unvaccinated as threats to public health.
Second, it is absolutely not the government’s business to conduct invasive investigations into the private medical records of Americans. It is also not the government’s business to mandate vaccinations or pressure (e.g., threaten) people to get them. But Becerra and his fellow Democrats justify their totalitarianism by claiming it’s all “to help communities be safe.”
