Barr: Police Chiefs Identify Antifa ‘as the Ramrod’ for Violence

September 3, 2020

Wednesday on CNN’s The Situation Room, Attorney General William Barr stated that he has spoken to every single police chief in cities that have suffered “major violence,” and those police chiefs have all identified the domestic terrorist group Antifa as “the ramrod for the violence” plaguing the nation.

“They are flying around the country,” Barr asserted. “We know people who are flying around the country. We know where they’re going.” He added that there have been “numerous reports” of Antifa individuals coming to Washington “for the specific purpose of causing a riot” during the recent Republican National Convention.

“I’ve talked to every police chief in every city where there’s been major violence, and they all have identified Antifa as the ramrod for the violence,” Barr said. “They are flying around the country. We know people who are flying around the country. We know where they’re going. We know — we see some of the purchases they’re making before the riots of weapons to use in those riots. So, we are following it.”

He later added, the DoJ has “received numerous reports of individuals coming from Portland, Washington, Seattle, and several other cities to come into Washington for the specific purpose of causing a riot.”

To date, not a single Democrat leader has denounced the group by name for its terroristic violence.
