Barack Backs Govt. Internet Controls to Suppress the ‘Demand for Crazy’

April 8, 2022

At an event on Wednesday hosted by Atlantic magazine and the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, former President Barack Obama called for more government regulation and control over the internet in order to squelch the “demand for crazy” misinformation.

“I do think that there is a demand for crazy on the internet that we have to grapple with,” Obama said. He lamented such misinformation as the “crazy” belief that the 2020 election was stolen through massive Democrat voter fraud, and the “crazy” belief that taking a government-mandated, Big Pharma-promoted experimental “vaccine” might have unexpected short- and long-term side effects.

He then condemned “a systematic effort to either promote false information, to suppress true information, for the purpose of political gain, financial gain, enhancing power, suppressing others, targeting those you don’t like.”

Sounds like his beef is with the Democrat Party enablers in the mainstream media, not the internet.
