AOC Outraged By Arrest of Woman Damaging Police Cams

July 30, 2020

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, the New York Police Department addressed the controversy surrounding the viral video of a woman being taken in an unmarked police vehicle, explaining she was wanted for damaging police cameras “during 5 separate criminal incidents.”

“Our civil liberties are on (the) brink,” an outraged Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) tweeted Tuesday, sharing an American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) video of what they described as an abduction. “This is not a drill. There is no excuse for snatching women off the street and throwing them into unmarked vans. To not protect our rights is to give them away,” she continued. “It is our responsibility to resist authoritarianism.”

It is also our responsibility to resist anarchy. The woman “was wanted for damaging police cameras during 5 separate criminal incidents in & around City Hall Park,” NYPD tweeted. “When officers from the Warrant Squad took the woman into custody… this evening, they were assaulted with rocks and bottles.”

Like all Democrats, Ocasio-Cortez defends criminals and demonizes law enforcement.
