AG Garland: ‘No Higher Priority’ than Prosecuting Jan. 6 Rioters

January 7, 2022

In a speech on the eve of the January 6 anniversary, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said, “there is no higher priority” for the U.S. Justice Department (DOJ) than charging and prosecuting those involved in the Capitol breach.

“The Justice Department remains committed to holding all January 6 perpetrators, at any level, accountable under law — whether they were present that day or were otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy. We will follow the facts wherever they lead,” Garland blathered. “Those involved must be held accountable, and there is no higher priority for us at the Department of Justice.”

If Garland truly follows the facts where they lead, he will find they lead to the Deep State enemies of legitimate President Donald Trump. The violence of January 6 was caused by FBI instigators as part of an entrapment of Trump supporters. Those involved are the agents who must be “held accountable.”

As of Wednesday, 725 individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with the riot. Of those 725, DOJ prosecutors charged 325 with felonies. In addition, the department is still searching for 250 individuals who allegedly assaulted police officers on January 6.

The message Garland and the DoJ are sending is: support Donald Trump and you will be politically targeted, smeared as a domestic terrorist, and your life destroyed.
