On International Men’s Day Tuesday, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) managed to redefine men and erase women in a single tweet, declaring on Twitter that men can get periods, get pregnant, and give birth.
“There’s no one way to be a man,” the ACLU tweeted. “Men who get their periods are men. Men who get pregnant and give birth are men. Trans and non-binary men belong.#InternationalMensDay.” The anti-science claim garnered around 19,000 comments and was shared with 1.7 million followers, according to Fox News.
The ACLU, which has pushed the Trump administration for transgender rights, followed this up with a tweet repeating, in full caps, “TRANS MEN ARE MEN.”
In addition to being patently false, the idea that men who “identify” as women are women is inherently misogynist (and should have feminists up in arms), but when it comes to pushing its anti-family agenda, the left sides with ideology over biology and common sense.
