Sheik Salah Shehadeh was born on February 24, 1953 in Beit Hanoun, Gaza. Between May 2000 and July 2002, Shehadeh, the military leader of Hamas, was responsible for murdering more than 150 innocent Israeli men, women and children – and wounding thousands more. Many of his surviving victims were maimed for life with lost limbs, or bodies full of nails and shrapnel. On the morning of July 22, 2002 in Gaza City, Gaza, an Israeli aircraft killed Shehadeh by firing a missile into the apartment where he lived.
