* A founding member of the DC Access to Justice Commission, Wilkins, during the course of his professional career, has served on the DC Advisory Commission on Sentencing, the DC Truth-In-Sentencing Commission, and the DC Juvenile Justice Advisory Group.

* Wilkins was a member of the presidential commission that advised President George W. Bush on the establishment of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
