* MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.

* In 2014, MSF took in some 115 million euros from institutional donors, consisting mostly of European governments, European Union bodies, and United Nations institutions. Among the major donors were the European Community Humanitarian Office, the European Union, and the governments of Belgium, Denmark, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. MSF said that more than 90 per cent of its overall funding derived “from millions of private sources, not governments.”
