Additional Information on the Aetna Foundation

Overview

* As part of a long-term commitment to help urban teenagers become doctors, nurses, and medical technicians, the Aetna Foundation has contributed significant resources to the National Academy Foundation‘s effort to develop and launch an Academy of Health Sciences (AHS) by 2015. Specifically, AHS will consist of approximately 65 schools serving up to 26,000 students, always with an eye toward “address[ing] the achievement gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics among low-income, minority students while encouraging students to pursue health-related professions.”
