NETWORKS OF THE LEFT

This section of Discover The Networks features the complete text of James H. Hansen's Radical Road Maps: Uncovering the Web of Connections Among Far-Left Groups in America, produced by WND Books in 2006. This publication examines the worldviews, objectives, and activities of many significant groups of the far left in America, and discusses how these organizations collaborate with one another, both openly and furtively. Specifically, as Hansen explains, this study:

  • looks at the oldest and most established far-left groups still active today and explores some noteworthy family connections they have;

  • discusses those groups that emerged, both on and off America's college campuses, during the Cold War;

  • looks at those groups that have moved to the forefront of the organized far left since the year 2000;

  • examines key groups within the entertainment industry; the feminist, black, and gay movements; the educational and legal industries; the media; and the U.S. Congress;

  • discusses the tools and tactics that America’s adversaries used during the Cold War, some of which have been utilized by far-left groups in recent times;

  • adds historical context by highlighting selected groups of Americans who, for one reason or another, collaborated or supported the Nazis in the 1930s, the Soviets since the 1920s, and the Vietnamese Communists in the 1960s and 1970s;

  • describes how individuals in the far-left groups express themselves; and

  • explores what the far-left groups are likely to do in the future.
