George Salem is the co-founder and chairman of the Arab American Institute, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that pushes an Islamist agenda by abusing its political clout. Salem and his law firm, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, represented the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a financing arm of Hamas, in a civil lawsuit brought against HLF by Stanley and Joyce Boim, whose son David was murdered by Hamas terrorists in 1996. Salem has donated money to U.S. Congressman Jim Moran (D – Virginia), who in 2003 made anti-Semitic statements charging that American Jews had dragged the United States into war.
Salem is also a Board member of the American Task Force on Palestine.
