Insensitivity 101

Jeff Crouere at BAYOUBUZZ.com brings to light that the New Orleans Police Department has hired the security chief of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, a man named Dennis Muhammad, to conduct "sensitivity training." (Thank you, Matt Drudge, for pointing it out.)

New Orleans will spend $15,000 to have Muhammad teach the NOPD how to be kind to the city's majority (only 30 percent of the city's population is classified as "non-Black"). Considering the policies of the Nation of Islam, it would not be surprising to see NO's cops learn to hate all Whites, Catholics and Jews they meet as well.

Crouere sums up the problem with this appointment quite well here:

"If the Nation of Islam ties were too controversial for Michael Jackson, it should be too controversial for the NOPD. New Orleans is a very diverse community with strong ties to the Jewish and Catholic faiths. Hiring an individual who is affiliated with such a hate filled group that has a history of anti-White, anti-Catholic and anti-Semitic rhetoric is an insult to all such individuals on the police force and in New Orleans. Obviously, Chief Compass needs sensitivity training to realize the implications of his decision."
