Get the Left to Support Gitmo
Richard Poe just noted one of Rush Limbaugh's comments on today's program. I'd highlight another:
After playing excerpts from Rep. Duncan Hunter's outstanding press conference yesterday on the quality of life al-Qaeda detainees enjoy at Guantanamo Bay -- religious freedom, free Korans, religiously appropriate meals (including dates for breaking the Ramadan fast), etc. -- he suggested America begin advertising the detention center as a Muslim resort.
I immediately brainstormed how Rush could enlist the international Left not only to keep Gitmo open but encourage just this sort of tourism: Convince them somehow that this is promoting "travel to Cuba." Despite the murder of tens of thousands and the depressed conditions Fidel has created inside the former sugar capital of the world, the Left will stop at nothing to benefit the dictator. Among Hollywood bigwigs like Jack Nicholson, Chevy Chase, Jane Fonda, and Oliver Stone, the Butcher of Havanna is by far, "bigger than Jesus." (Apologies to John Lennon...and the Cuban people.)
And with respect to Richard Poe's comments, Rush Limbaugh is not a journalist in any traditional sense of the word. Unfortunately, neither are mainstream media "journalists" (and haven't been since at least Vietnam, arguably long before).
