Terror Briefs

"I would be happy to have all of these Arab nations that have been so hell bent to drive Israel out of the Middle East to get together, find some land and make it a home for the Palestinians. I think it can be done." Former House of Representatives Leader Dick Armey (R-TX), in 05/01/02 Interview.

From the Jerusalem Post:

Tuesday the 2004 Arab Human Development Report was released by the UN Development Project. The report placed a large chunk of the blame for the Arab world's lack of economic progress and political freedom on Israel's creation in 1948 and US support for Israel's continued existence, as well as the US military presence in Iraq. Greg Sullivan, the spokesman for the US State Department's Near Eastern Bureau said, "We think it's misguided to blame Israel for the problems and the challenges that the Arab world faces."

And from Steven Shamrak:

Within hours of the explosion of the Texas City oil refinery that killed 15 and injured more than 100, FBI officials were ruling out terrorism as a cause. It would have been impossible to make such a snap determination based on facts. In fact, it was not until eight days after the deadly explosion that the first federal chemical and safety investigators even visited the blast site. (The same behavior was exhibited by French government when Arab terrorist blew up chemical plant in southern France several years ago. No wonder Islamic extremism is prevailing.)

Steven,
Like the blog its a regular read now. Please see my entry on the NY Times romanticization 'piece' on Joseph Massad - 7 days after the report came out.... Its nauseating beyond belief.

Everyone missed it but I caught it and Powerline linked to it this morning.

A link to my post would be VERY much appreciated.

Here is the link.

No, the reason is the Arab world is still awaiting a Renaissance, and a time of Enlightenment!

And another thing, give the Israelis all that oil revenue, over all that period of time, and well, can you imagine the wonders!

Reminds me of the plane that apparently "ran out" of fuel and crashed into the Mississippi River near the Gateway Arch here in St. Louis a couple of years ago. The FBI cleared the pilots, two Muslims, and praised them as heroes for dumping the plane into the river. But the kicker is that the FBI did this a day before the NTSB and TSA began an investigation of such probing questions as how the plane ran out of fuel if the distance between its takeoff point (somewhere in Texas) and its destination (St. Louis International) was around 300 miles shy of the range a full cargo payload (which it didn't have) in that type of plane would have had fully fueled. Did the pilots really take off in a plane that didn't have enough fuel to reach their destination even with a light cargo load?

As often happens when two or more government agencies conspire together to be bumblingly inefficient, this became a "nothing to see here, move along please" moment.

Could be innocent, could be guilty. Hard to say without actually investigating.

On Sept. 11th, 2001, we found out why President Clinton barricaded Pennsylvania Avenue around the White House without explanation.

"Maybe terrorism will go away if we ignore it" - the CT policy of the Clinton Administration, still has institutionalized champions within our current government.
