Carter Rips U.S. Foreign Aid Efforts During Conference
Jimmy Carter gave the opening speech at a recent conference hosted by the Institute of Human Rights at Emory University. Carter slammed the U.S. for what he perceives as its stinginess in providing aid to impoverished nations by saying, "Unfortunately, in the rich countries like ours, we really don't give a damn."
Carter has a hectic schedule. Meddling in foreign affairs, criticizing sitting presidents, shilling for dictators, , chasing accolades, associating with "beautiful people," publicly frowning on America and sharpening his carpentry skills take much of his time, so it's understandable how he could have missed the news that, recently, the U.S. led the formidable post-tsunami disaster relief effort in Indonesia and affected and paid for the greatest and most expensive humanitarian effort of the last sixty years--the freeing of 40 million Iraqis and Afghanis from the grasp of tyranny and the rebuilding of their nations.

Is it my imagination but only Richard Nixon continued to serve his country after he left the Whitehouse. Reagan is absolved for obvious reasons.
As much as I dislike Bill Clinton, it's painfully clear that he is not the worst president in our history. That becomes more painfully clear every time Jimmy Carter opens his mouth.
Habitat for Humanity might do well to ascertain how much money and help Carter is costing its organization.

I divide Citizen Carter's actions from President Carter's so that Clinton can continue to carry the torch as "Worst President in American history," a Democrat Party perennial tradition passed down among their Presidents that goes back to at least James Buchanan.
