Terrorist who Murdered in Tel Aviv taught Middle East Studies in the US!

Sometimes you learn more about the true political agenda of the establishment press by watching what it does NOT report.

Take the fact that Spain and France are now trying to get the Hamas taken off the list of world terrorist organizations. You would have to read the Israeli press to hear about that. Or what about the "story" of the supposed expulsion of Islamic Jihad leaders by Syria. The Islamic Jihad headquarters is in Dmascus. Its leaders ordered the suicide bombing last week in Tel Aviv in which five Israelis were murdered and 60 wounded. The press reported with slavish fanfare that Syria was buring Assad some relief by expelling the terror leaders (To where? - did not say!) How many have NOW reported that the whole "expulsion" was a lie and a faint. Intelligence sources in Israel said that Syria had played a similar trick in the past, noting that senior Islamic leaders had never actually left Damascus, but had simply lowered their profile until the situation quieted down. The security establishment estimates that Islamic Jihad's Damascus headquarters invested around $30,000 in the Tel Aviv attack, most of which went toward operating the network of people involved.

And then there was the story of a Lebanese Arab woman speaking at Columbis University and tellingthem that the only place in the Middle East that is both democratic and respectful towards Arabs is ISRAEL! You had to go to World Net Daily to learn about that. "As a Middle Easterner brought up on this patent 'Israel is a racist state' propaganda, I discovered it is total hate-inspired nonsense," she said.

And how many establishment press papers reported the anti-terror demonstration in Iraq. More than 2,000 people demonstrated Tuesday at the site of a car bombing south of Baghdad that killed 125 people, chanting "No to terrorism!" How many are reporting the scores of daily attacks on Israelis by the PLO and its affiliates in spite of the make-pretend ceasfire having been announced by the PLO?

And how many reported that one of the terrorists who blew up Tel Aviv last week taught Middle East Studies in the US? One of the terrorists behind the Stage Club in Tel Aviv over a week ago taught Middle East Studies at a University in the US before he moved to Syria. 47-year-old Ramadan Shallah is the head of Islamic Jihad who was caught on tape ordering the attack by telephone from Damascus. Shallah was a PhD student at Durham University, in England from 1985-1990, where he wrote his thesis on the merits of Islamic Banking. Shallah then moved from Durham to the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he taught Middle Eastern studies and headed the World and Islam Studies Enterprise, a think tank affiliated with the university. In 1995 he became the head of Islamic Jihad and is now wanted for murder by Israel.

We can end this problem on campus in a hurry if we were serious . The key is to contact the Alumni and corporations that donate. We could start with Columbia and send a message but we won't.
Universities listen to donors more than regular folk.

which is really only relevant if we can tie some terrorist-supporting activities to him during that time.

He was there until 1990, and wasn't head of IJ until 1995. Did he lose his mind in five years? What was he saying and doing before that?

Those fools who continue to imagine we are not in a war, truly both enrage and offend one;it is also a war of ideas and definitions, and so much thanks and gratitude to you S.Plaut for both the info and the moral clarity

The man's terrorist activities postdated his career in academia. Are universities now to be castigated for not being clairvoyant?

Spain you say? They are holding a International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security, and have therefore invited a true expert on terror, Saeb Erakat from the PA.

That's what I'm wondering, here.

But then, if he was up to some hijinx in his time at the university, that's something that should be looked at.
