Taliban John - the New Role Model for Cockburn's Cronies
We here at Moonbat Central have been wondering just how long it will take before Alexander Cockburn, the editor and publisher of Counterpunch, decides to strap on an explosives belt and blow himself up on a bus full of American school children to show his solidarity with Middle East terrorism.
Think we are exaggerating? Well, just take a look at the latest masterpiece in Counterpunch progressive journalism: "Free John Walker Lindh!" By DAVE LINDORFF. Yes Cockburn and his Counterpunch cronies have at last found someone who captures everything in which they truly believe - Taliban John Lindh! The preppie who then became an al-Qaeda terrorist warring against his own country on behalf of Islamofascism.
Solidarity with Taliban John is the new cause of the Caring Left! Lindorff is a flaky Cockburn regular who in the past insisted there was no significant difference between Bush and Hitler. His day job seems to be promoting the cause of cop-murderer Mumia Abu-Jamal, another darling of the Brain-dead Left that Lindorff insists is innocent (like Taliban John). Cockburn himself has written about Lindorff:
"It's writers like him who have saved the honor of American journalism when the mainstream pundits had their heads buried deep in the sand."
Lindorff writes on Counterpunch:
"But we in the anti-war movement, we who support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and basic decency in the face of the proto-fascists in the Bush administration who are justifying every assault on those things in the name of fighting terrorism, can and should demand his immediate exoneration and release. This is not just a matter of basic justice and common decency. It's a matter of getting the truth out about what Bush's and Rumsfeld's wretched minions were really doing in our name over there in Afghanistan. This imprisoned young man has an important story to tell, and we all need to hear it. Free John Walker Lindh!"Here is a compromise from Moonbat Central. How 'bout letting Burncock and Lindoff share the same cell with Taliban John?

What insanity! It is one thing to criticize Lindorff for believing that Lindh did nothing wrong. It is quite another to say that because Counterpunch publishes Lindorff's views, then Counterpunch's publishers want to become suicide bombers. It is that sort of hyperbole that makes me realize that truth is not the purpose of Frontpagemag.org. Criticism is good, but bullshit, from either the right or the left, should be called for what it is.
When someone publishes a magazine or journal that includes articles written by individuals who endorse Islamist aggression & suicide attacks, or the people who endorse them, they are inevitably associted with such extreme ideas.
If Counterpunch were to include articles praising individuals or groups responsible for Rightist atrocities, every last "progressive" would emerge from the woodwork to abuse, threaten, intimidate and physically attack both the author and the publishers.
Claims that Counterpunch's publishers are sympathetic to Islamist suicide bombers is not an entirely undeserved attack.
