MTV - Molestation TV?
Millions are shocked by trial accusations of what pop musician Michael Jackson allegedly did to young boys, but few seem concerned by the sexual -- and political --manipulation of America's pubescent population by the cable network that used to push Jacko, MTV.
The typical American 14-year-old now watches MTV for at least an hour each day. For adolescent males the reason is obvious -- this network oozes titillation, feeding these teens what the Parents Television Council described last month as a diet of "incessant sleaze."
MTV is the same network that staged the halftime show at the 2004 Superbowl, the show that exposed Michael's sister Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" during an act of simulated rape that shocked the nation and shocked the FCC into action. That Superbowl, including its halftime, was aired by MTV's sister station CBS, both owned by media conglomerate Viacom.
MTV uses sex to seduce youngsters to tune in, and to deliver this inexperienced audience to advertisers willing to pay top dollar for impressionable, commercially-virginal viewers whose lifetime brand preferences are not yet set.
But MTV also uses its viewers' hormones to gain access to their minds -- undermining conservative cultural values as part of a left political agenda. Part of this left agenda is MTV's voter recruitment effort for the Democratic Party called Rock the Vote (RTV).
In what Fox News on Monday described as "the political Odd Coupling of 2005," MTV's Rock the Vote has just joined forces with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP)in a push poll designed to undermine President George W. Bush's effort to let workers put a portion of their Social Security tax into private accounts beyond the control of politicians.
AARP had already done and publicized a poll about Social Security that, almost unnoticed, took care to exclude everybody under age 30 -- the group most likely to favor President Bush's proposal. This new AARP poll done in conjunction with MTV's Rock the Vote included a smattering of younger people.
"Young and old have united!" proclaimed RocktheVote.com at the new poll's gimmicked results. But as Fox News reported, "so few of the 18-39 demographic initially opposed privatization that the polling firm [the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies]considers the sample size for the anti-reform group too small to be completely reliable!" Such was the discounting of results after this poll -- slanted with one-sided, anti-privatization questions -- failed to produce the desired results.
Social Security was created and has been sustained by the left as the opening wedge of full-blown socialism in America, and as the pillar of Democratic Party power, used to tax Americans into relative poverty so that they become dependent on this welfare Ponzi scheme. It's the Fabian tactic that worked in England -- break peoples' legs economically, then offer them a crutch and tell them to be grateful to the politicians who did this. But if that dependency is ended by privatization, the power base of the Democratic Party will disintegrate.
Why would a youth-oriented MTV promote a system that inevitably will shaft young people with sky-high taxes to provide long, leisurely retirements for their Baby Boom grandparents? Why is MTV using dishonest propaganda to stab its own audience in the back?
The answer seems to be that Viacom's bosses really are Viacommies. Viacom executive Tom Freston, who shaped MTV's present form, was in Havana in 2001 along with CBS chieftan Les Moonves for an intimate party with Cuba's Communist caudillo Fidel Castro. Viacom executives are among the biggest supporters of the Democratic Party.
So what does the "M" in MTV really stand for? Music TV? Moral Disarmament TV? Molestation TV? Marxist TV? Given the politics behind MTV and the leftwing musicians it promotes, are these four possibilities all that different?
