Leftists Howling for the Pope's Blood

Another example of the light and life emanating from the political Left may be seen in the current issue of the New York Press. Jeff Koyen, editor of the left-wing rag, has quit after running a cover story entitled, "The 52 Funniest Things About the Upcoming Death of the Pope." The diseased article -- most of which is incoherent -- includes such "hilarities" as, "In his last days, the Pope was in tremendous pain," and "Pope pisses himself just before the end; gets all over nurse."

Leaving aside its nineteenth century, Know Nothing anti-Catholicism, the article is the latest example in an increasing leftist motif: raging bloodlust. This deadly ire is hardly restricted to Holy See. FrontPageMag.com columnist Tammy Bruce described her former comrades pining for the death of Ronald Reagan (the man who, with the help of Pope John Paul II, helped liberate millions from the murderous nightmare of Communism). Cartoonist Ted Rall has made a career of slurring the deaths of such laudable innocents as Reagan and Pat Tillman. (See his latest whine against DiscoverTheNetwork, or e-mail him here.) Ward Churchill hailed the 9/11 hijackers; U of Texas Journalism professor Robert Jensen thrilled, "The United States has lost the war in Iraq, and that's a good thing"; Columbia prof Nicholas DeGenova prayed for "a million Mogadishus" against American soldiers. (But remember: it's wrong to question the Left's support for the troops!)

How long will it take for Americans to read the signals that the Hate America Left is a quasi-religion whose cardinal virtue appears to be philo-thanatos: the love of death?

Sad, but not surprising.

I was witness to a discussion board debate between a conservative and a liberal recently. During the course of the discussion, the liberal apparently ran out of ideas. At that point he suggested that conservative should shoot his wife and then commit suicide, so as to prevent the birth of more conservatives. The discussion ended quickly thereafter.

Hmmm, let's see.

The Left wishes its enemies would die.

The Right actively pursues the death of its enemies.

Probably about the same time they realize the same can be said for the Use-America "Right." : )

Point of order: The New York Press is not, as anyone who's read it should now, a left-wing rag. It likes angry, bomb-throwing, politically incorrect voices, and it publishes writers from the left, right and center. Matt Taibbi, the writer of the offending article, is certainly of the left, but he's also someone who has no problem taking shots at the left. Consider, for example, the 25th reason why the pope's death is funny:

25.LexisNexis search on phrase "the inner workings of the Vatican are shrouded in mystery" temporarily crashes system; Eric Alterman unable to search for press references to "What Liberal Media?" for 37 consecutive hours.

I think the article's in awful taste, but I'm not ready to use it as exhibit A in the case for the left's raging bloodlust. Taibbi sometimes goes overboard, but he's also a pretty interesting writer, and a free-thinker, and I like to give those people the benefit of the doubt.

The AMERICAN Left...

Like Fathers, Like Sons!

The left's Founding Fathers, the Jacobins, had the same feelings towards Christianity. They murdered many a Priest, and even changed the calendar to eliminate Sunday.

Why?

Simple! To eliminate the competition for the heart, mind, and very soul of mankind.

Worship, serve, and derive all your rights from the almighty authority of the left, instead of from Almighty God.

GOD AND HIS SON saw to the American Revolution! The beast, and his genius of the deadly swindle, egalitarianism, saw to the French Revolution!

Well, I could waste time and electrons whipping out several $10 words to truly describe the cosmic horror that is Ward Churchill, but he's not worth the effort.

Us lifters and totters have to budget our time wisely while making the world go around, you see ; )

Witness the, "I am God trip," and the narcissism of a leftist hag above.

Laeth MacLaurie knows what is a child and what is life, when she spews her venom, and says,

Man, a child of this rotten hag can expect anything and whatever, for her leftist convenience.

Well, leftists for certain.

But which policies in particular are we talking about, here? Can you be more specific?
