DINOs, Demosaurs, Dinocrats and Senator Lieberman

Senator Joseph Lieberman (D-Connecticut) is being described by leftwing bloggers, writes Monday's New York Times, as "a DINO, for Democrat in Name Only, adapting a coinage conservatives often use for moderate Republicans."

And some of these lefties now toy with mounting a primary challenge against this 2000 Democratic Vice Presidential candidate.

But Senator Lieberman has kept faith with the old JFK Democratic ideal of defending and extending democracy in the world, in places such as Iraq and Afghanistan....you know, democracy as in the words Democratic Party.

The leftists who oppose him are apparently outraged by President George W. Bush's overthrow of these tyrannies and the liberation of people, especially women, in these places.

So it seems that these leftists are the "Democrats In Name Only." Senator Lieberman is the genuine Democrat.

But these neo-Marxists attacking the honorable Senator Lieberman have hijacked the Democratic Party, stealing its name as previously they stole the once-honorable label Liberal to use as sheep's clothing disguises for their ideological predations against humankind.

Because of this leftwing deception, the Democratic Party is now destined for extinction, as were the dinosaurs.

We should hasten this process by calling them what they are, using the coinages I created in a 2000 frontpagemag.com column -- dinocrats and demosaurs.

Throwing out terms like "neo-Marxist" in reference to the Democratic party just makes you look like a tool in a tinfoil hat...

Ponte's clear meaning is that the neo-Marxists are the lunatic fringe characters who are trying to steal the party, and not the heart of the party.

Of course the more the Kos/MoveOn/Soros/Moore/DU fringe moves in, the more that heart will continue to disintegrate.

Excellent Post.

Here is the problem as I see it. I have voted R my entire life (the last Dem I voted for was 20 yrs ago and only then because he was a personal friend).

There is a lot of smoke and mirrors about the "Liberal" tags we use for the opposition. There are some areas where I am a liberal. The bottom line is these nutjobs are Socialists who didn't get the memo when Communism died. Lets call them what they are.

Neo-Marxists aren't involved in Democratic politics, even on the periphery. They're putting their time and effort into the Greens or other fringe parties (just as neo-Fascists aren't supporting the Republican party). The American right vastly overstates the number and influence of genuine Marxists in the US.

Time for the DINOS to join the Rudy Wing. The Dems are finished if they don't start moving to the center.

Joe Loserman is a self-righteous virtuecrat and a hypocrite. And if his participation in the Great Social Security Swindle is what it takes for the Dems to finally do a Julius Ceasar on him, then that's just fine by me.

I only wish his Ides of March had come several years ago...

Virtuecrat? Interesting that something positive can be twisted into something negative.

I disagree with Joe Lieberman on most issues, but I still respect him for having the courage of his convictions, a rational way of supporting his positions, and the ability to speak without spouting vicious lies and sounding like a raving loon. This distinguishes him from the screaming Kennedy/Pelosi/Boxer/Reid wing of the party.

It's never positive when, like a true liberal, he tries to force you into following his beliefs.

And anyone who would run alongside a sack of horseapples like Gore is seriously morally compromised.

Shiny apple often rotten inside.
