It is impossible to understand politics in the world today without grasping the fundamental fact that there exist two different Lefts. I propose that the two be referred to by everyone as the Stupid Left and the Satanic Left.
The two are very different, although they work together. People who are part of the first are simply stupid people. People who are part of the second may in fact be quite shrewd, but are evil and nefarious. There is no third type of leftist.
Over time, the Stupid Left has been losing its numbers, as many Stupid Leftists either become smarter or morph into Satanic Leftists, and so desist from being mere Stupid Leftists. So a process of selection is occurring whereby the strength of the Satanic Left within the overall Left grows. The anti-American demonstrations we have been witnessing in Europe and the United States are attended by both kinds of Leftists, although they were organized by Satanic Leftists.
The Stupid Left is anti-American because it thinks people in America are oppressed, poor, mistreated and that America is an evil country. The Satanic Left is anti-American precisely because it knows the opposite is the case.
The Stupid Left hates America because it thinks America promotes evil, oppressiveregimes around the world. The Satanic Left hates America because America gets in the way of the evil, oppressive regimes that the Satanic Left promotes.
The Stupid Left denounces capitalism and globalization and supports communism because it really believes that people are poor and oppressed under capitalism but free and happy under socialism. The Satanic Left denounces capitalism and supports communism precisely because it knows that the opposite is the case.
The Stupid Left does not know that communism produces gulags. The Satanic Left supports communism precisely because it produces gulags and also because the Satanic Leftists presume they will be placed in charge of the gulags.
The Stupid Left wants a Palestinian state because it thinks that such a state will pursue peace alongside Israel. The Satanic Left wants a Palestinian state precisely because it knows such a state will launch a war of destruction against Israel and endless atrocities against the Jews.
The Stupid Left thinks Israel mistreats Arabs. It does not know that Arab regimes mistreat Arabs. The Satanic Left knows Israel does not mistreat Arabs and Arab regimes do. It wants Israel destroyed not because it thinks Israel is unjust, but rather because it hates Jews.

I think you could not possibly be more right here. There is a subculture of the Left that isn't merely misguided or merely lacking in virture. These people are evil, and I do not think it is incorrect to say this truth is theological. Whether or not a person believes there is a real Kingdom of Heaven, it should be a no-brainer to recognize that these people are working to establish a Kingdom of Hell under the pretenses of building a paradise and there cannot be anything more Satanic than that.
If I may oversimplify, you have exposed at length the real problem of so many people, whether on the Stupid Left or not: they do not believe in evil. They don't believe, for instance, that anybody could actually desire gulags, and death by terrorism, and all the other evils you mention. They chalk it up, at most, to good intentions pursued wrongly. That the intentions themselves might be evil either does not occur to them or, if it does occur to them, the thought is dismissed as a reactionary judgement.
This kind of righteous honesty is only found on the blog pages. Evil does not prosper under the harsh light of truth.

Hmmm, I believe there are more Stupid leftists than Satanic leftists. At the school I attend, there are A LOT of leftists who honestly believe communism will bring good to the world. These people are the highest office bearers, from School to debating captains. How can smart people be so stupid?

To the reader who asked "How can smart people be so stupid?": Remember Winston Churchill's famous saying "A man who is not a liberal at 20 doesn't have a heart and a man who is not a conservative at 40 doesn't have a brain." As a former leftist, who WASN'T raised by communists and have only myself to blame, I gotta tell you Communism can look GREAT on paper. The excuse that socialist experiments have failed because they weren't "true socialism" has got to be the best excuse of all time. You really have to look deeper to see the underlying idea that any society based on a wholesale abbrogation of property rights is going to result in tyranny, call it what you will. When upper middle class kids come to a stark realization that most people do not enjoy all the opportunities in life that they do and that the United States is not perfect, it can do a number on them.
In order to 'win' the Culture War, we must 1) demonstrate the superiority of our arguments through Reason, and 2) be on guard of the tactics of our opponents. Throwing around that the Left hates Jews, wants to run gulags, and wants to kill their friends without providing any backup to these serious accusations violates Assumption No.1. This rant also provides the Left with heaps of ammo to be taken out of context, violating Assumption No. 2 (although they will do this anyway, but why make it easy on them?).

The Satanic Left does what is does because they Envy those who are successful and they want to tear them down. They pursue this desire with the Arrogant belief that they can control the economic and human devastation that is caused by the destruction of human excellence and achievement.

The first time I was exposed to an alternative view (rationally presented), I felt like a duck when it wakes up in the morning - as if the whole world around was something I had never before experienced.
It can be said that the fuel that drives Capitalism is, of course, Greed. The difference is, an individual can satisfy his Greed without hating or taking away from or harming anyone else. The same cannot be said of Envy, which must necessarily nourish hate, theft, and therefore, harm.
On a couple of your specific comments: Liberals don't like Islamic terrorists and don't hate Jews. Liberals hate America because it is powerful and successful. They form their alliegences and enemies on that basis.
And that is why today's Liberalism is dangerous and evil. Is Envy more powerful than Greed? In an ignorant population, you bet it is.
Without education and enlightenment on the true nature of concepts like justice and forces like economics, Envy will win and America will lose. That's why I'm at this website.
Good arguments there, orangeducks954. I would only quibble about a couple of things.
First, greed is a pejorative, and as such isn't necessarily a component of capitalism. Pursuit of profit, or obtaining reward for effort, is a major component of capitalism, but it's not the same thing. Semantic argument, perhaps, but worthy of discussion.
Second, while I agree fully that not all lefties hate Jews, we must acknowledge the fact that some do. Anti-semitism is not a disease restricted to neo-Nazis. It's rampant in the international left, as well.
I am in complete agreement that an educated population is the best defense against leftism. Toward that end, the rotten core of today's "education" system must be revamped. Jefferson wrote that a free society is never safe but in the hands of the people, but he qualified that by saying that the people must be educated. Ignorance is freedom's greatest enemy.

Welfare! To the radical anti-americans, it was a way to weaken america. to the "stupid" left (i don't like to refer to them as stupid, they are more like people who think with their hearts and ignore their logic), it was a way to help and feed the poor. I have been saying for years that the only good democrat is the voter, they are just uninformed. How can you blame them when the news (holders of the people's trust, were secretly minipulating all of us for many years).

Since the rhetoric that they apply to us routinely resides in the gutter, I say fine, let us stand toe-to-toe there and see how things measure up.

On the issue of Liberals hating Jews, I simply reject it as a broad assertion that applies to the Left in general, as "Stupid Left, Satanic Left" states.
We can play word games and spar and take digs all day with the Left. Agreed. The way to defeat leftism is through facts and rationality, commodities in very short supply on their end. Leftists cannot maintain their footing in a factually-based debate. Well, as charging Jews with knowingly malicious conduct is a prime tactic of anti-Semitism--i.e., the Jews (or Israeliis) are self-consciously and deliberately evil, I am personally reluctant to divide all leftists into idiots and evildoers. I believe Irving Kristol is still a leftist. Capitalism is very nice until it falls off the tracks. And for morals conservatives--those who wish to support a culture of life as opposed to a culture of infanticide-on-demand--the libertarian defense of abortion is sadly not disconnected from capitalist consumerisms illusion of perpetual desire.

You’re just making this stuff up to fit your thesis. You offer nothing in the way of real examples or reasoned debate. You’ve set up a straw man in these communism-loving leftists to demonize anyone who disagrees with your right-wing agenda. Well, pal, that’s just bull. Liberals, lefty’s, progressives, whatever label they call themselves in fact generally feel as they do because they find themselves appalled by the means the right will use to accomplish its goals. Goals that benefit the extreme rich, the powerful and the unscrupulous toadies that parrot their policies. Toadies like your editor in chief, the well paid, well financed Mr. David Horowitz, a former lefty who took Trotskyist tactics and applied them to right-wing activism. Was Mr. Horowitz stupid or evil when he was editing for Ramparts in the 60’s? Does the Olin and Scaife money he’s accepted make him smart or good?
I remember being appalled during the 80’s about the Iran/Contra thing. When Eugene Hossenfus’ plane crashed and the story started to come out – the secret arms deals with Iran, the drug running, the support for death squads that killed innocent peasants – it was a betrayal of our American ideals of government. It was a betrayal of the image we are taught as children of what our country is and should be.
American funding and support of the mujahadeen in Afghanistan against the Soviet’s eventually led to a bad end as well. We fell into the “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” fallacy, at least until the Soviet’s ran away. We supported Saddam before he was our enemy. We supported Noriega before he was our enemy. We made these bad men stronger. And they all end in the same way: blowback.
I turn to the theme of ends and means. Ends do not justify the means. Human beings are not to be treated as means. The categorical imperative as laid out by Kant makes that clear, as does the more straightforward golden rule, laid out by Jesus. So you tell me I’m either stupid or evil for having moral principles that determine what I will or will not support my government doing, then perhaps your definitions of good and evil are broken.
You warn of gulags. I remind you: we are employing torture and indefinitely imprisoning people with no access to legal counsel. We are doing this to arabs and other muslim people. You tell me I am naïve and they are evil terrorists. But again, “ends and means.” Who they are has no bearing on whether we sell out our ideals. Some of those people in Guantanamo are assuredly guilty. But they are now so legally tainted they cannot be prosecuted under the rule of law. Others were simply sold for cash by warlords in Afghanistan. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are our civil sacred documents, expressing the ideals we espouse. You are willing to trash them for short term goals. Yet I am stupid or evil.
So I ask you, who do my principles support? People. While I may phrase this in terms of abstractions, the beneficiaries are those governed under the rule of law – a level playing field with the same standards for the rich and for the common man and woman. Who benefits from the principles of those who support the current administration and right-wing activists? Corporations. Powerful men. Inside players who get play with the lives of ordinary people, but do not have to bear the costs of the unintended consequences that are the result of their actions. Yet, I am stupid or evil.
I leave you with one last thought. The principles I set forth reach for transcendence of mere power and “law of the jungle” thinking. The “conservative” ideals you espouse are not, however. Conservative means preserving and defending what you have. Avoiding unnecessary risks. That’s fine. I have no quarrel with that. The goals the right supports include using torture, the bombing of innocents, invasions based on quest for global geopolitical advantage. These are not conservative, but aggressive, radical concepts. They are the law of might makes right, the law of the jungle introduced to the modern world. These are not goals compatible with Judeo-Christian ideals, as most of your right-wing me too posters seem to espouse. They are the voice of that reptile, still living in the core of your brain; of the monkey bashing in the skull of another monkey to take his power. They are the voice that sows the whirlwind. Call me what you will. Your empty words have no power over me.

I know many on the left and they are well read, well spoken people with the best of intentions, yet choose different paths toward making the United States of America a better place for not only themselves, but their children, grandchildren, and untold future generations. In debate, we disagree on most social issues, yet agree (surprisingly) on issues of fiscal discipline, the education issue, and a wide array of other domestic issues.
To merely brand the Left as either stupid or satanic is not only ignorant, but it is wholly unproductive in developing dialogue between the two opposing political ideologies. This is true of vitriolic, hateful attitudes from both sides. I have heard, from many on the left, that fascism is creeping into my Republican party. Although I disagree vehemently with that assessment, I see that very concept has reared its ugliness into your mindset.
As a conservative, you should be ashamed at such a diatribe. Attitudes such as yours will inevitably be what divides the Republican party itself and ultimately will prevent us from achieving our goals.

It is interesting to me that there is such an effort afoot to remove individuality from people. I honestly don't know anyone whose personal beliefs can be so narrowly defined as to fall strictly within the criteria of a conservative, liberal, or any subset thereof.
If every argument is based on truth, and truth can only be verified at the subjective level, then much of what is written about groups and classes of people would have to be discarded.
I am not allowed to pass on as gospel anything that I am not able to verify as truth whether it be Karl Rove's relationship with Mr. Gannon, Senator Santorum's desire to be part of that relationship, or Senator Frist's desire to more highly thought of by Hillary Clinton. None of these things are actually part of my verifiable truth.
In the same sense, it would be less than honest of me to claim knowledge of what might be in the hearts or minds of conservatives or liberals. I can only use my comments and/or my writing to reflect what is truly within my own heart.

The concept of stupid and evil are definitely worthy of consideration, I believe, because they are both spawned through ignorance.
The bottom line is that many conservatives and liberals hold identical values, and are deeply concerned about identical issues. This fact is much easier to discern when you reach out to and deal with individuals rather than classes or groups. It is also infinitely more rewarding. By their DEEDS shall they be know.
Interesting idea. But it is as usual a generalization. There is no black and white. No "satanic" and "stupid" left or right. What you wrote could have been written changing the word "left" with the word "right" and be agreed in its entirety by the other side.
I am a liberal. I am neither a "satanic" lefty nor a "stupid" lefty. I don't believe the left can be so easily categorized. The left is a vast (and disorganized) array of different causes and ideas. The people you think comprise the left are but a few, the most vocal and annoying of a very large group of people.
This is quite a funny article. Insanely stupid and generalizing in a condescending, "get off of my lawn you drooling rapid right-winger" type of way, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
