"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism.

This is an old secret that drives people crazy. The permutations are obvious and odious for the Islamo boosters.
The fact is that Assyrians and Coptics have a greater case for nation status.Both people have a language and a distinct culture.
Re: secret: they think they're a people. Maybe they think they should run Jordan too but they do not think of Palestinian identity as being a con to get the Jews. You may not think they are a people. I may not think they are a people. But they think they are a people. Maybe Arabic isn't a real language either. It's just a bunch of nonsensical squiggles they pretend to read.
That point, ananymous, is that by PLO leaders' remarks we see that even THEY do not really think they are a people!
