Marilyn Tadros is an Egyptian human-rights activist. She serves as deputy director of the Legal Research and Resource Center for Human Rights in Cairo, and as a board member of Grassroots International.
Tadros is also the founding president and executive director of Virtual Activism (VA), a nonprofit organization registered in Rhode Island. VA's stated objectives are to “strengthe[n] nongovernmental organizations' effectiveness and outreach through Internet access and presence,” and to “trai[n] nongovernmental organizations [NGOs] -- especially those most marginalized in the Global community, even in the Global North -- to be self-sufficient and independent in their use of the Web.” “Our target,” says VA, “is the most marginalized NGOs in the Global community, with particular attention to women's organizations.”
