Sara K. Gould is the Ms. Foundation for Women's (MFW) current president and CEO; she replaced Marie Wilson in 2004. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Gould served as MFW's executive director. Upon becoming CEO and president, she abolished the position of executive director and replaced it with four vice-president slots. She has been with MFW since 1986, beginning as the founder and director of its Economic Development Program.
Ms. Gould also served with the Women's Action Alliance (WAA), one-time sinecure of Bella Abzug and Gloria Steinem, inter alios, which was dissolved in 1997 after a 26-year run of revolving directors and brushes with bankruptcy. WAA sponsored such projects as the Non-Sexist Childhood Development Project and the Computer Equity Expert Project.
Gould holds a masters degree from Harvard University. She sits on the board of Women & Philanthropy, an endeavor in which she is joined by representatives of the Ford Foundation, the William Randolph Hurst Foundation, and several other leftist foundations. She also sits on the boards of the Women's Funding Network and the State Strategies Fund.
