Choices in Community Giving (CCG) is an Idaho-based federation of more than 30 organizations that award grants in the fields of health and human welfare, the arts, environmentalism, and economic and social justice. CCG funding usually takes the form of "workplace giving," where employees arrange to have a specified sum regularly deducted from their paychecks and transferred to the coffers of one or more CCG member groups. For its role in coordinating these transactions, CCG charges a fee of slightly less than 10 percent of the value of the donations.
Some CCG members are national organizations; most are regional or local. Among these member groups are: the American Civil Liberties Union of Idaho Foundation; the Idaho Black History Museum; the Idaho Conservation League; Idaho Rivers United; the Idaho Women's Network; Northwest Animal Companions; the Northwest Earth Institute; Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Justice; the Planned Parenthood Association of Idaho; the Sawtooth Society; the Snake River Alliance; the Western Watersheds Project; the Wolf Education & Resource Center; and a gay advocacy group called Your Family Friends and Neighbors. All CCG members are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as "501(c)(3)" nonprofit organizations.
CCG is governed by a Board of Directors composed of representatives from each of the groups in the federation; each member organization has an equal voice in decision-making for the federation.
