  • July 1994: Voted No to HR 3838, a bill to prohibit illegal aliens from receiving benefits under the Federal Emergency Management Agency's emergency food and shelter programs
  • March 1995: Voted No to HR 925, a bill requiring federal compensation of private property owners when federal actions reduce the value of that property by 20 percent or more
  • March 1996: Voted No to HR 927, a bill seeking international sanctions against the Castro government in Cuba, and supporting the establishment of a transition government leading to a democratically elected government in Cuba
