NSP's Standards for Determining Whether a Company Merits a Renewal of Its Corporate Charter

Source: NSP website; accessed February 11, 2011

The Social Responsibility Grand Juries that NSP advocates would assess whether a company has: given “global and local environmental concerns a high priority”; produced “socially valuable products”; provided workers “with a decent living and adequate opportunities to [unionize]”; given workers “periods each day for emotional and spiritual renewal”; devoted “adequate attention to the family needs of its workers”; and “encourage[d] workers to develop a sense of awe and wonder at the glory of the universe.” If a corporate charter is not renewed, the offending company could be placed on three-year probation, or its charter could be awarded to another group.
