Question: What do you get when you put a
microphone in front of an imbecile?
Answer: Howard Dean.
Dr. Dean has "stepped in
it" again. Appearing
on Face the Nation
Sunday, the spiritual leader of the lemming Left and the official
head of the Democratic Party declared that, "as of today it
looks like women will be worse off in Iraq than they were when Saddam Hussein
was president of Iraq."
Tell that to Kurdish women like Falih
Al-Qaraghuli who had this to say about life under Saddam Hussein:
"We were afraid all the time…Our life, it was unbearable…Life was
miserable."
While fleeing Hussein’s forces
in 1991, Falih and her family were ambushed at a roadblock. She was shot twice
by Baathist forces, her father three times. Both survived. Her sister, aunt and
stepmother weren’t as lucky - they were killed, as was Falih’s grandmother who
was "burned like pieces of meat."
Falih’s tale is typical of the
sort of violence visited upon women during the reign of the Great Uncle. Mass graves containing the
remains of women with bullet holes in their skulls give silent
testimony to the murderous nature of the Hussein regime, whose hatred
of women was also defined by the psychotic sexual predations of the Great Leader’s sons.
Dr. Dean thinks his Face the
Nation comments serve to discredit the Bush Administration and boost
the credibility of the Democratic Party. They do neither.
All Dean managed to do Sunday
was to spit on the graves of Saddam Hussein’s victims and tell Iraqi women
that slavery is freedom.
